MELBOURNE - Hollywood action man Jean Claude Van Damme is said to have suffered a minor heart attack on the set of his new film ‘Weapon’.
According to website Twitchfilm.net, the 50-year-old martial arts star collapsed on the set of the film in New Orleans and was taken to hospital.
Production on the movie was halted to allow Van Damme time to recover at home in Belgium with his wife, Gladys Portugues.
The movie star, dubbed the ‘Muscles From Brussels’, was likely to make a full recovery, according to a source.
“I’m hearing that production of the film hasn’t actually ‘halted’, it’s just worked around Van Damme’s close ups. The film is as good as done. I’m also told that Van Damme, 50, had been feeling tight pains in his chest and took himself to hospital to look into it so not as big a drama as (the) headlines may make out.” News.com.au quoted Moviehole’s Clint Morris as saying.
