LONDON - Comedian Robin Williams agreed to host a dinner party for six fans in a bid to raise funds for tennis star Andre Agassi’s charity - the funnyman apparently collected 400,000 pounds.
Agassi’s 15th Annual Grand Slam for Children benefit gala on Saturday was a roaring success - the event garnered over 5.7 million pounds with the help of stars including Williams, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich and Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto.
There was a live auction where six bidders pledged 67,000 pounds each to dine with Williams in San Francisco. Pinto, on the other hand, raised 50,000 pounds by offering up a trip to her native country India, reports the Daily Star.
The Las Vegas event, benefiting underprivileged youngsters, also featured performances from Sir Elton John, Jason Mraz and Jennifer Hudson. (ANI)
