57th National Award Declared: Amitabh Bachchan Wins for Paa

NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com) — The ‘angry young man’ has made it once again. Amitabh Bachchan proves again why the whole world salutes him. He bags the National Award for the third time for his impeccable acting in the movie ‘Paa’.
The much coveted National Award has been declared on Wednesday. Many critics were skeptical about Big B winning the third National Award. But after the declaration, they were nowhere to be traced off. Mr. Bachchan has earlier won the National Award for Agneepath and Black.
The Best Film award goes to Malayalam film Kutty Srank, while the Best Director award is won by Rituparno Ghosh for his film Abohoman. This is a Bengali film that also fetched the Best Actress award to Ananya Chatterjee.
Aamir Khan starer movie 3 Idiots has been declared as the most popular film for being a wholesome entertainment package.
Besides this, the Best Supporting Actor award was given to Farooque Sheikh for Lahore and Best Supporting Actress is Arundhati Naag for Paa.
