MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com) — Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, the recently released movie Aashayein has hit the big screens with some great actings. The pairing of John Abraham and Sonal Sehgal was meant to give a Blockbuster hit. But, sadly enough, the weak script makes all their efforts went into vain.
In today’s world, almost every director wants to bring out a story that reflects out daily life. They are real stories on Celluloid. Director, Nagesh Kukunoor has always been more energetic towards such movies. Aashayein seems to be “our” story.
Aashayein is quite bizarre. It does not keep upto the expectations. The story reveals a man, who has a few months more to live. He wants to live his life to the fullest but then he has to cope up with all other circumstances too. The story starts with realistic patterns but ends up with utter fantasy. Aashayein may have been for the Director, but truely speaking it could not live upto the ‘Aashayein’ (Hope) of the viewers.
At a party to celebrate his big win at gambling, Rahul, starred by John Abraham proposes his girlfriend and soon after he falls down on the floor. A medical diagnosis at a later stage reveals that only a few months are left for Rahul. He is suffering from Lung Cancer. Rahul does not let his girlfriend, Nafisa know about this and leaves at mid-night.
Kukunoor has beautifully brought out the performances of every single actor on stage. Unfortunately, the writing was not upto the mark. We had hoped a better film from Nagesh Kukunoor. We expect him to come with a better project next time.
