LONDON - Anjelica Huston has said that it was difficult to be with ex-boyfriend Jack Nicholson.
In an interview with Empire magazine, the ‘Addams Family’ star opened up about her troublesome relationship with Nicholson.
The star had an on-off relationship with Jack from 1973 to 1990, and the couple starred together in ‘The Postman Always Rings Twic’e and ‘Prizzi’s Honor’.
“Sometimes it was wonderful, and sometimes not - he was great company; sharp, very astute, very amusing, he loves people, loves to talk, he’s very gregarious, but he’s also a very private man and often difficult to be with,” the Mirror quoted her as telling.
“(It was mainly difficult) because of the sheer intensity of the attention he caused, not that he asked for it but that he drew to him because of who he was,” she added.
Anjelica often felt like she was living in Jack’s shadow.
“Resentment would come up. All the phone calls were for him and all the scripts that came through the door were for him, all the books and all the proposals and propositions. That’s a losing game, to be a competitor in that atmosphere,” she revealed.
“Everything that went on in Jack’s house was about Jack. And if you have ambitions, it’s hard to get them jump-started in a situation like that. I needed my own space,” she added. (ANI)
