LOS ANGELES - Hollywood actor Mel Gibson has presented evidence supporting allegations that his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva attempted to extort $10 million to keep the recordings of his telephone rants private.

According TMZ.com, the “Braveheart” star and his lawyer reportedly submitted “physical evidence” in the form of emails and text messages to prove their case.

The former couple, which split earlier this year, has become embroiled in a bitter battle over recent weeks as they attempt to thrash out custody arrangements for their young daughter, Lucia.

However, Grigorieva has dismissed Gibson’s extortion accusations and her representative, Stephen Jaffe, insisted that his client is innocent of the claims.

He said: “To specifically address the allegations, my client, Ms. Grigorieva, has repeatedly stated that there is no credible evidence whatsoever of extortion by her, and she stands steadfastly by that statement.”
