NICOLE KIDMAN is to play fabled writer ERNEST HEMINGWAY’s wife, opposite CLIVE OWEN, in a new JAMES GANDOLFINI movie.
The Sopranos star has been trying to get the biopic Hemingway & Gellhorn before cameras for years - and now he’ll produce the TV movie for U.S. cable channel HBO with two of the world’s biggest actors.
Kidman will play Martha Gellhorn, Hemingway’s third wife.
Shooting will start in Northern California next year (11).
According to the Los Angeles Times, Kidman has put her portrayal of British soul star Dusty Springfield on hold so she can make the new movie with Owen, Gandolfini and director Philip Kaufman.
The film isn’t the only all-star biopic about Hemingway in production - Sir Anthony Hopkins, Andy Garcia and Annette Bening have teamed up to shoot Hemingway & Fuentes.
