Lee Dewyze wins ‘American Idol’

LONDON - Lee Dewyze has been crowned the winner of the ninth season of popular music reality show “American Idol”.

The 24-year-old singer-songwriter said he couldn’t believe his luck after hearing that he had beaten his fellow contestant Crystal Bowersox by a mere margin of two percent votes, reports contactmusic.com.

“This is amazing. Thank you guys so much for everything. I can’t believe this. I love you guys. I’ve never been happier in my life. There are no words to describe it. This is amazing and I appreciate everything everybody here has done,” he said.

Judge Simon Cowell, who quits “American Idol” after this season, said: “He’s worked in a paint shop. He’s talented. He hasn’t had any real breaks in life, and this has given him a shot, and I like that.”
