Titans Topple Date Night In U.s. Box Office Battle

CLASH OF THE TITANS has won the battle of the box office in the U.S. a day after early studio estimates suggested comedy DATE NIGHT was America’s top film.
Initial reports put Steve Carell and Tina Fey’s comedy on top of the weekend movie chart - by an estimated $200,000 (£125,000), but official figures have the action epic ahead by $1.4 million (£875,000).
Experts claim Clash of the Titans performed much better than anticipated on Sunday (11Apr10) and took in $26.6 million (£16.6 million) to claim the box office top spot for a second successive week.
