NICOLAS CAGE’s Las Vegas, Nevada mansion has been sold - for almost $3.5 million (?2.2 million) less than he originally paid for it.

The actor, who has been struggling with a series of tax woes, bought the six-bedroom house for $8.5 million (?5.3 million) in 2006, but the home, which was repossessed in November (09), has been sold for $4.95 million (?3.1 million), according to TMZ.com.

Cage, who still reportedly owes millions to the U.S. government in unpaid taxes, has offloaded a number of properties, including his Bel Air mansion in Los Angeles, which he sold for a fraction of its original $35 million (?23.3 million) asking price, as well as a Bavarian castle in Germany, a house in Bath, England and two New Orleans, Louisiana properties.
