A rare combination of beauty with brains Tara Sharma in her short span of career has paved a niche for herself in Bollywood. Her unique image has been stamped on the minds of the audience with an array of films like ‘Masti’, ‘Page 3’, and ‘ Khosla Ka Ghosla’ to name a few.
The gorgeous beauty came into the limelight with the film ‘Masti’ although she started her career with multi-starrer film ‘Om Jai Jagadish’ which did average business at the box office. As her upcoming release ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’ creates a buzz Tara Sharma tells us all about the interesting film and much more in an exclusive conversation with Sampurn Media.
What is ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’ all about?
As the name suggest, it’s a story based on the search for a perfect groom and revolves around Sushmita Sen and Fardeen’s characters. It’s a comedy with a special appearance by Shahrukh Khan.
What’s you character in the film?
I play a girl called Tanvi, who’s an Indian coming from Trinidad. She is a girlfriend to Mohit Chadda who is a DJ. She loves her boy friend but at the same she is also practical and thinks whether her boyfriend will get the work or not, whether he will be able to settle in life etc.
In ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’ you will be seen romancing Mohit Chadda, how was your experience working with this debutant?
The experience of working with him was good. Mohit is a good actor, and a nice guy too. Although, I don’t have a very lengthy role in the movie and it was more like a special appearance but, over all it was fun doing this film with him.
What made you sign the film?
Basically, it’s a small role and it wasn’t like a dream role but it’s always good to be a part of good project. It’s always good to work with a good bunch of actors, good production house, good story line, good packaging. Like my dad always used to say ‘a Film is like a fly, when everyone flies, fly with it’. I have been someone who’s never worried about the length of my role.
As Shahrukh Khan is doing a special appearance in the film, do you have any scene with him?
I don’t have any sole scene with him but yes we do have a collective scene with him. The scene is set on a cruise liner where Shahrukh Khan is doing something romantic for Sushmita Sen and the whole cast is present.
How was your working experience with first time director Mudassar Aziz?
I have to say Mudassar is a very talented, smart and intelligent guy. Moreover, he’s a very good human being. I hope the film does well especially for his sake and for all of us.
As the movie is a comedy, what sort of environment was there during the shoot of the film?
The environment was always funny and as I knew the entire star cast personally so it was more fun. We had lot of fun while we were shooting in Trinidad and Tobago which is a very beautiful place. We loved going out for lunches and dinner, laughing and joking all the time.
With the promo song of the movie being appreciated by the audience, how do you find the music of the film?
I liked the music of the film, which is very catchy and peppy. My best song from the Album is a title track ‘Akela Dil’.
Have you signed any projects recently?
I have signed a film tentatively titled ‘Mocktail’ which also has Rajat Kapoor, Purab Kohli, Tisca Chopra. The movie is is a comedy and produced by Sunil Doshi and directed by Sharad Kataria who did the screen play of ‘Bheja Fry’. It should begin sometime next year.
