Brittany Murphy’s hubby ‘dubbed conman’

MELBOURNE - Late actress Brittany Murphy’s screenwriter husband has been dubbed as a conman after being accused of credit card fraud, huge debts and visa violations.
London-born Simon Monjack has been nicknamed “Con-Jack” in America.
He has also been accused of getting his wife fired from her last film after turning up drunk on set.
“I know I have been called a conman,” the Daily Telegraph quoted him as saying.
“I am not perfect. I never said I was. But there has been so much rubbish written about me and Brittany,” he added.
Before getting married to Murphy, Monjack was involved with a string of women who now regret meeting him.
His former girlfriend from a rich London family allegedly lost more than 200,000 pounds after investing in a “film” project, one of a series of failed Monjack companies. The emotional cost was much higher.
“She still hasn’t really got over him,” said a close friend.
“She is still in a very fragile state. When I heard he had married Murphy I thought: ‘Poor, poor Brittany’,” the friend added.
Thirty six year old Simone Bienne, whose 2001 marriage to Monjack after a whirlwind romance lasted just five months, is said to have suffered hell with the man.
Murphy was even warned by one of her close friends about her fraud hubby but she did not listen.
‘Factory Girl’ director George Hickenlooper had warned Murphy to seriously consider her relationship with Monjack. (ANI)
