NEW YORK - Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon organized a holiday party for 35 Colorado underprivileged children at a rented Aspen Recreation Center.
According to The Aspen Times, the songstress rented out the city-owned Aspen Recreation Center for four hours at 1000-dollar an hour, reports The New York Daily News.
The kids enjoyed a day of wall climbing, swimming and ice-skating.
“It was all about the kids,” Jude Liguori-Oliver, child protective services administrator for the City and County of Denver, told The Aspen Times, “Many of these kids haven’t been out of Denver. A lot of them haven’t been in the mountains.”
They were also treated with performances from magicians, jugglers as well as storytellers and got a visit from bearded Santa Claus who arrived on a sleigh pulled by reindeer with Mariah and Nick by his side.
“As soon as she got off the sleigh, they started screaming, ‘Mariah! Mariah! Mariah!’ ” Ligouri-Oliver told The Aspen Times.
Carey is a regular visitor of Aspen around the holidays. (ANI)
