Record Bosses Searching For Lost Murphy Songs
By WENNThursday, December 24, 2009
BRITTANY MURPHY’s music career could get a boost from beyond the grave - label executives are reportedly on the hunt for previously-unheard songs recorded by the star before her untimely death.
The Clueless actress embarked on a pop career in 2006 when she teamed up with dance DJ Paul Oakenfeld and released the hit track Faster Kill Pussycat.
She also showed off her vocal talents on the soundtrack for animated movie Happy Feet, and now record bosses are searching for any hidden gems Murphy may have made to include on a possible posthumous release.
A source tells E! Online’s Marc Malkin, “Obviously this isn’t a Michael Jackson thing, but people are definitely interested in Brittany and her story.
“Depending on what she may have recorded and what kind of quality it is, she could end up having a hit song or two.”
It is not known whether Murphy recorded anything other than the tunes already released, unlike the King of Pop, who stashed away hundreds of previously-unheard songs recorded throughout his lifetime.
Murphy died after suffering a cardiac arrest on Sunday (20Dec09).
Jackson passed away in June (09).
