LONDON - Brittany Murphy’s husband has trashed rumours claiming the actress was popping prescription drugs before her sudden death on December 20.
The ‘Clueless’ star died aged 32 of a cardiac arrest at her Hollywood Hills home.
She was rushed to hospital by the paramedics after her mother found her unconscious in the shower. She was later pronounced dead by the doctors on arriving at the hospital.
According to leaked documents from the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office, a variety of prescription pills were found in her house, reports the Daily Star.
But Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack has assured Murphy, who was diagnosed with a heart murmur, was just taking painkillers to treat menstrual cramps.
Monjack said: “She was on herbal remedies, that wouldn’t speed up her heart. There was nothing here that could endanger her, there was prescription medication in the house for her ‘female time’ and some cough syrup. That was it.”
The final cause of death is yet to be determined after results of an autopsy were deferred. (ANI)
