NEW YORK - Actress Brittany Murphy showed flu-like symptoms before she died last Sunday, says her family.
“The family reported to us some flu-like symptoms leading up to her death. They said she was feeling ill for several days,” the New York Daily News quoted coroner’s spokesman Capt. John Kades, as saying.
The cause of the “Clueless” star’s death may be known after the toxicology results are out in another six to eight weeks.
Kades also revealed that that many prescription drugs were recovered from Murphy’s home.
Without naming the drugs he said: “The prescriptions were written to her…We didn’t find any illegal drugs. All the medications were collected and booked here as evidence.”
Murphy allegedly collapsed in the shower due to a cardiac arrest early Sunday at her Hollywood Hills home.
Although, Murphy’s autopsy has given no signs of foul play, the cause of death has is still not known.
Murphy rose to stardom in 1995 with the film “Clueless”.
She acted in more than 25 flicks including 1997’s “Bongwater,” “Girl, Interrupted” in 1999, “8Mile” and “Sin City.” (ANI)
