Princess And The Frog Hops To Box Office Top Spot

Disney’s newest release PRINCESS AND THE FROG has hopped straight to the top of the U.S. box office chart, after scooping $25 million (?15.6 million) in its opening weekend (11-13Dec09).
The movie replaced last week’s number one, The Blind Side - the Sandra Bullock-starring American football film, which took an impressive $15.5 million (?9.7 million) to secure second place.
Clint Eastwood’s latest movie, Invictus, opened in third place, after taking a disappointing $9 million (?5.6 million), ahead of Twilight Saga: New Moon, which drops to fourth.
Disney’s A Christmas Carol wraps up the top five.
