Kasaravalli’s debut film ‘Ghatashradhdha’ makes T20 list

BANGALORE - Girish Kasaravalli’s debut film “Ghatashradhdha” has found place in the T20 of Indian Cinema list. The films were chosen through a contest at the 40th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The director is excited by the development.
“During the last IFFI in Goa, ‘Ghathashradhdha’ was chosen as one of the Top 20 Indian films. But the film was chosen by a team of jurists and film critics. This selection is something special as the film has been chosen by the ardent film fans who vouch for good cinema,” Kasaravalli told IANS.
About 1.6 million entries came for T20 Films contest and the jury had a tough time creating the final list.
The list includes films like Mani Ratham’s “Nayagan”, Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s “Elipaththayam”, Ramesh Sippy’s “Sholay”, Sathyajit Ray’s trilogy “Pather Panchali”, “Aparajito”, “Apur Sansar”, Mrinal Sen’s “Bhuvan Shome”, Guru Datt’s “Pyaasa”, Ritwick Ghatak’s “Meghe Dhaka Tara”, Vishnupant Govind Damle’s “Sant Tukaram” and M.S. Sathyu’s “Garm Hava”.
