LUDHIANA - The grand set of Hollywood’s blockbuster ‘The Mummy’ is being recreated in Ludhiana for a pre-wedding ceremony.
To make the pre-wedding ceremony of his son memorable, Gulshan Kumar, a realtor based in Ludhiana is leaving no stone unturned to develop an exact replica of the set of Stephen Sommers’s ‘The Mummy’ for the pre-wedding ceremony.
Around 60 artisans from Kolkata and Delhi are working on the pre-wedding ceremony set. The set is being recreated in an area of six acres on the outskirts of the city.
According to Suresh Kumar, the contractor who is managing the construction of the set, the theme of the set is completely new in India and isn’t even costly.
“In pre-wedding ceremony places we get a short time to arrange and assemble the things. The costing here is low, as we have used raw materials like bamboo sticks and jute bags for the decorations, so we get enough time to conceptualise. We have also used mud colour to paint the structures which comes at quite low prices,” said Kumar.
An impressive Sphinx statue at the entrance has already been erected. There will be laser effects and the sidewalls will be covered with more than 500 life-sized murals and statues of Cleopatra, Nefertiti, Egyptian gods, soldiers and royal servants.
The pre-wedding ceremony set is a gift from realtor Gulshan Kumar for his son Rohit and bride Kiran.
“We want to depict the Egyptian culture here. This is a labour job, which involves the creativity of the mind,” said Gulshan Kumar.
The pre-wedding ceremony would take place on November 22. (ANI)
