LONDON - Hollywood veteran Clint Eastwood has been made a commander in France’s prestigious Legion of Honour for his contribution to the entertainment industry.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy bestowed the American actor with the honour, who said he saw France as his second home.

According to the award citation, the 79-year-old star was presented the decoration, crediting his body of work, his longevity and his ability to delight audiences worldwide, reports the Telegraph.

The decoration was said to be a step up for the producer who landed a knight of the Legion of Honour in 2007.

Former French president Jacques Chirac had then honoured Eastwood, who now grades three on the legion’s five-grade scale. (ANI)
