The rejuvenated SCREAM film will be part of a brand new trilogy, according to screenwriter KEVIN WILLIAMSON.
Original Screamers Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and her husband David Arquette have signed on to reprise their roles in a fourth horror film.
The original franchise was a huge hit, with the first three movies raking in around $289 million (£180 million) at the box office.
And movie bosses are hoping for the same results again - Williamson, the writer of the old and new films, has let slip the fourth movie will be the beginning of a new series of Screams.
He says, “It’ll take place right now, 10 years later, and it’s going to take place in (Campbell’s character’s hometown) Woodsboro (Maryland). We’ll have our three main characters, and we’ll be introducing several more…We’ll also be introducing a little group, a little ensemble of new castmembers. That’ll take us through the next three.”
