Rockers MUSE have dethroned DAME VERA LYNN at the top of the U.K. charts - a week after the wartime singer made history as the oldest living artist to score a number one album.
The trio’s new release The Resistance shot straight to poll position, ending the week-long reign of We’ll Meet Again - The Very Best of Vera Lynn and pushing pop star Peter Andre’s Revelation into third place.
Rapper Jay-Z’s fresh entry The Blueprint 3 and singer David Gray’s Draw The Line rounded out the top five.
In the singles chart, U.K. singer Taio Cruz claimed number one with Break Your Heart, while David Guetta and Akon’s collaboration, Sexy Chick, was second.
Madonna had to settle for third place with her single Celebration, while Jay-Z’s Run This Town and Shakira’s She Wolf took the fourth and fifth spots respectively.
