Nine Inch Nails Scrap Los Angeles Show

Rockers NINE INCH NAILS have scrapped the second of four final Los Angeles shows - because frontman TRENT REZNOR is ill.
Thursday’s (03Sep09) Wave Goodbye show at the Henry Fonda Theatre was to be the second of four shows in Hollywood on the group’s final tour.
But Reznor has been advised by doctors to rest, prompting the cancellation.
A statement reads, “We’re very sorry to announce that Trent is ill, and on his doctor’s orders, we will not be able to perform tonight’s show at the Henry Fonda Theater. This is the only information we have at this time.
“We’re very sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding.”
Nine Inch Nails were joined onstage by British electro-pop pioneer Gary Numan for two songs from his back catalogue at their Hollywood Palladium concert on Wednesday night (02Sep09) - before Reznor was taken ill.
Barring any further cancellations, Nine Inch Nails will perform at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles on Saturday (05Sep09) and play their final show ever at the Echoplex on Sunday (06Sep09).
Announcing his decision to stop performing live in June (09), Reznor revealed he feared his band becoming like glam-rockers Kiss.
He explained, “I’d never want to be (Kiss star) Gene Simmons, an old man who puts on make-up to entertain kids, like a clown going to work. In my paranoia, I fear that if I don’t stop this, it could become that.”
