WASHINGTON - Gillian Anderson has dismissed reports that she will never play Agent Dana Scully again, insisting she will appear in a third ‘X-Files’ movie.
Earlier this year, it was claimed Gillian would turn down any approaches to make a third movie because she felt typecast because of her association with the franchise.
However, the actress, who plays agent Dana Scully in the sci-fi TV series and its spin-off movies, recently surprised fans at the Sarajevo Film Festival by admitting she would happily reprise her role for another big screen instalment.
“Of course I would accept an offer to appear in a new ‘X-Files’ movie. There isn’t any reason not to do it,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.
“I feel a commitment to that group of people I worked with and we still enjoy doing it. There is no reason not to come together and do it again. If they can pull it off, we’ll find a reason to make it,” she added.
The actress believes the work would start on the next movie in 2012. (ANI)
