CHENNAI - Tamil film “Thambivudayan”, which deals with the long standing Cauvery river water dispute between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka governments, is set to hit the screens soon.
The shooting of the film is almost complete. Director Raja Mahesh himself has written a couple of songs for the movie criticising the Karnataka government and the court’s stance.
“As Raja comes from a farmer’s family from Thanjavur Delta, there can’t be a better person to bring out the agony of the farmers through a film,” said a source close to the film unit.
“Besides highlighting the water dispute, the film also has a dose of romance,” added the source.
Earlier, a film titled “Pachchai Mann” was launched on the Cauvery river water dispute. But it was shelved due to unknown reasons.
