AGRA/ HATHRAS - Bollywood actors and a former cricket captain lent glamour to the Congress party’s election campaign.
Film stars Mahima Chaudhary and Raza Murad campaigned for Prabhudayal Katheria, Congress candidate from Agra.
Chaudhary asked people to vote for a government that will focus on development.
“Compare the situation in Delhi, which is ruled by the Congress for the last 15 years and Uttar Pradesh that is ruled by other parties for the last 15 years. Please don’t be under false impressions. We don’t want a government like the one you have in Uttar Pradesh. We want our country to be ruled by Congress,” she said.
Meanwhile, in Hathras, cricketer-turned-politician Mohammad Azharuddin rooted for the Congress candidate, Pradeep Chandel.
“Here whatever development has taken was under the rule of Congress, after that there was no development. Here there were many mills that were closed. I think if you vote for Chandel and make him strong, he will work hard,” he said. (ANI)
