After bad show as host, Franco skips Oscar party

LOS ANGELES - Actor James Franco skipped his own Academy Awards after-party after a lacklustre performance as the host of the mega event.
The 127 Hours star, who was slammed for his performance alongside Anne Hathaway as Oscar hosts, had planned to throw an exclusive party at Los Angele’s Supper Club Sunday after the ceremony, but instead left LA straight away, reports contactmusic.com.
The star was slammed for being distant and uninterested in proceedings at the event at the Kodak Theatre.
Tim Franco, writer of The Hollywood reporter, said: Anne Hathaway at least tried to sing and dance and preen along to the goings on, but Franco seemed distant, uninterested and content to keep his Cheshire-cat-meets-smug smile on display throughout.
“What was the point, Academy? What did Franco bring to the table? His appearance played more like one of his performance art pieces than an actual attempt to be host. A bad and risky idea, letting two actors host, proved out in spectacularly unwatchable fashion on the biggest of all nights for the film world, he added.
