‘Dhobi Ghat’ Releases Tomorrow

MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- After much anticipation, the much awaited Aamir Khan film ‘Dhobi Ghat’ is all set to hit theaters across the country this Friday. The hype surrounding the movie has been all the more as it would mark the directorial debut of the ace actor’s better half, Kiran Rao. Despite the fact that Kiran Rao is known to have been assisting director Ashutosh Gowariker in smash hits such as ‘Lagaan’ as well as ‘Swades,’ this is her very first directorial venture. Since the promos of the film has been released, it has been successful in generating wide interest among the movie-goers, who are eagerly waiting to catch the movie, first day first show. Moreover, the association of Aamir Khan with any movie in itself is enough to raise the bar for any movie and at the same time make sure that the flick receives a grand opening.
Kiran Rao’s ‘Dhobi Ghat’ basically tracks the story of four protagonists who hail from different works of life and are trying their best to make a mark for themselves amidst the hustle and bustle of a busy Mumbai life. The premise of the story talks about how the lives of the four main characters played by Aamir Khan, Prateik Babbar, Monica Dogra and Kriti Malhotra gets interlinked with each other in an unique yet ordinary manner.
Although ‘Dhobi Ghat‘ comprises of four lead characters, director Kiran Rao has emphasized that Mumbai plays the fifth main role in the movie as it essentially is all about the basic essence of the city. Whether the unusual 95 minute flick with its unique storyline is able to live up to the expectations of the viewers, remains to be seen.
