Robert De Niro’s Golden Globe trophy breaks

LOS ANGELES - Actor Robert De Niro was left embarrassed after his lifetime achievement trophy received during the Golden Globe Awards ceremony fell to pieces.
The veteran star was honoured with the coveted Cecil B. DeMille prize at the star-studded ceremony in Los Angeles. He went on to the stage to accept the award, but the trophy broke shortly afterwards, reports imdb.com.
“The top fell off. They warned me. They’ll have to solder it back on,” De Niro said after being asked about the absence of his trophy backstage by reporters.
