LONDON - Actress Gemma Arterton is eager to work with filmmaker Darren Aronofsky but is worried he will think she is too “mainstream”.
“I loved ‘Black Swan’ and I’ve always loved Darren Aronofsky. It reminded me of ‘Requiem for a Dream’. And Natalie Portman is incredible in it. I really loved it,” contactmusic.com quoted her as saying.
However, the former Bond girl admits she finds it difficult to convince her favourite directors to work with her because she is too “mainstream”.
Asked if she would like to work with Aronofsky, she said: “Yes, of course! It always makes me laugh because my favourite directors are quite obscure - Darren Aronofsky, Michael Haneke, Lars Von Trier. But I haven’t got to work with them, I suppose because I’m quite mainstream.”
