LONDON - Veteran actress Zsa Zsa Gabor has been hospitalised again and doctors have advised amputating a part of her leg because of a life-threatening blood infection and a clot, her husband said.
Her husband, Prince Frederic Von Anhalt, revealed that the doctors advised him before the holidays to bring her in and have the surgery done, but Gabor, 93, refused.
The doctors have since told her if she didn’t have the surgery immediately, she would lose her life.
Gabor was hospitalised last year with a “massive blood clot”. A doctor was called to her Beverly Hills home after she complained about pain and swelling in one of her legs. She was referred to the emergency services and was taken to the UCLA medical center, reports contactmusic.com.
Von Anhalt also revealed Gabor had a blood infection and was suffering from poor circulation in her right leg, adding: “She’s taking a lot of medicine right now.”
She has been in and out of hospital since breaking her hip last year.
