LONDON - Singer Amy Winehouse took home a handsome pay of $1.5 million after performing for two hours at a Moscow show.
The performance was organised by a Russian businessman Friday and Winehouse was thrilled to be singing live again, reports contactmusic.com.
“It was a fantastic performance. Amy was brilliant and went down very well with the crowd. She has a real following in Russia and no one was disappointed judging by the reaction she got.
“She is clearly glad to be back on stage. 2011 is going to be a big year for her,” said a close friend of the “Rehab” singer.
The 27-year-old singer, who is back after battling alcohol and drug problems, was flown from London to the Russian capital to perform in front of high profile guests.
Her popularity has soared in Russia after it was revealed her grandmother was an immigrant from the country.
Now she is set to continue with a series of six shows scheduled for next month in Brazil.
