Raju-Maharaju busy in post-production Directed by P Bhanushankar and produced by Kumaraswamy Pathikonda on the banner of Sri Kumaraswamy Productions, ‘Raju-Maharaju’ with Dr Mohanbabu and Ramyakrishna in the lead roles, Sarwanand, Surwin Chawla and Tasu Kaushik as the hero and heroines, is presently busy in post-production works. Producer says, ‘We have recently completed the dubbing activity and are planning to start re-recording in the next couple of days. We are planning to launch the audio through a popular music company in the first week of May and are making efforts to release the film by the end of May. We got a very good story and are making it in a rich way without compromising on the quality. We have spent more that Rs 10 crore on the film. We are quite confident about the success of the movie.’ Director says, ‘The story will have love and family sentiment in its backdrop. Mohanbabu’s performance would remain a highlight. The film would also earn a very good name to the young hero, Sarwanand.’Chiranjeevis House warming ceremony in Tirupathi on April 2Megastar Chiranjeevi is now contesting for the assembly from Tirupathi. He has decided to take a house on rent and stay there for some time. The reason is that he is being accused as an outsider by his political opponents. So Chiranjeevi has taken a house on rent in the Khadi colony. The two-storied building has been taken on lease for a period of two months. The rent is one lakh rupees per month. Lifestyle in April The film ‘Lifestyle’ has completed shooting and is now in post production. The film stars Nischal, Karthik, Abhiram, Meenakshi Dikshit and Monali Choudhary in the lead roles. Muppalaneni Siva is the director and Madhavan Patnaik is the producer. The film is bout the present generation youth and showcases their aims and ambitions in life in a very entertaining way. The audio will be released later this month and the film in April. Ananya, Brahmanandam, Dharmavarapu, Bhuvanachandra, Anant, Sana and others are among the star cast. Malanna trailers released The film ‘Malanna’ with Vikram and Shreya in the lead has been made with a lavish budget of 40 crores. The film took almost two years to complete. Kalaipuli Thanu is the producer and Susi Ganeshan is the director. The film is being made simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil. The film will also be dubbed into Spanish, Italian and English. Devi Sree Prasad has scored the music for the film. Superstar Krishna has done a guest role for the film. Bhavani IPS completes shootingShooting of ‘Bhavani IPS’ directed and produced by G Kicha in association with M Shagul Hameed on the banner of K Films International with Sneha playing the title role was completed recently. Speaking on the occasion, cameraman K Bhupati says, ‘I am sure that the film would earn me a good name as an efficient technician on the lines of ‘Antahpuram’ earlier. Director Kicha would also earn a good name and become very familiar to the Telugu audiences. We struggled a lot in bringing out the film technically.’ Director cum producer says, ‘This is the first ever film I directed in Telugu language. Sneha is playing the role of an IPS Officer. It is a totally different character when compared to her earlier film career. It is a never before role for her. We shot for about 48 days in and around Hyderabad. There are a total of five songs and Dina gave melodious tunes to all of them. Rajanikant gives clap for Chaitram Shooting of a film directed by Raju Vupati and produced by Vijay on the banner of Rakesh Circuit with a debutant Surya as hero was launched at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad recently. Super Star Rajanikant attended the inaugural and gave the clap, while popular cinematographer Sekhar V Joseph switched on the camera for the muhurat shot picturised on Surya and Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, under the honorary direction of popular director N Shankar. Speaking on the occasion, the producer says, ‘We will continue the shooting without any break from now onwards and it would continue till May 15. We planned to shoot the film in Karamchedu, Film City, Pollachi and Hyderabad.’ Director says, ‘In ‘Chaitram’ the plants start growing. Similarly the love story in our film begins in the same month and grows. We have winter, summer and rainy season. Likewise, our love story will have three stages like school days, college days and marriage. Post-production works are nearing completion and presently the film is in DTS mixing stage. Producer says, ‘The first copy would be ready by the end of April. We have plans to release the film in the second week of May. Our film would be different from routine and will definitely attract the youth as well as class audiences. Director Satya was able to narrate the story in a novel manner. Basically, the film is a romantic thriller. We are introducing Siva R Nandigam as music director. There are three songs and he gave melodious tunes to all of them. Not only the songs, he showed his prowess in re-recording. As we felt that our film should have a hero without any image to do justice to the story, we chose upcoming hero Vamsikrishna, while Kaveri’s glamour would be an added attraction.’ Guribabu, Jeeva, Surya, Surya, Krishna Bhagawan, Babloo, Sridhar, Delhi Rajeswari, Geeta Singh, Rajita, Aparna and others are in the cast. The first copy of the film is also ready now. Addressing the media, Akash says, ‘We watched the first copy and all of us felt happy for bringing out a nice film. I was able mould the story that was in my mind exactly on the celluloid with the complete cooperation from the producers. Even we did not compromise in post-production activity and finished it in an efficient way, though we took a little more time to complete it with a view to give a quality film. The audio had already proved a hit and we are sure that the film would also be a big hit.’ Music director Nandanraj says, ‘Everyone eagerly looked how would be the debut direction of Akash. Once we completed the re-recording, everyone watched the film and felt very happy. Even I personally felt thriller. He did a very nice job.’ Producer says, ‘The film came out well. Especially the movie would definitely entertain the youth. Though this is the debut venture, Akash brilliantly brought out the movie. In fact, we started the film as a low-budget movie. However, we did not compromise as the film is coming out well the excellent quality and increased the budget. The film has everything for everyone.’
Nayan still going strong The talented Nayanatara may be going through a bad phase for some time but she has proved that she is still much in demand. Nayanatara made it bit with the Tamil Billa in which she rocked with her bikini act. But her subsequent films including Vishal’s ‘Salute’ bombed at the box office. Nayan is now set to make a strong comeback once again in Tollywood. She is the lead actress in a new Jr. NTR film. Nayanatara has now been signed up opposite Ravi Teja in a new film titled ‘Anjaneyulu’. Speaking to the media Sobharani of SVR Media says, ‘We are making efforts to release the film on April 10. The post-production work is in final stages. Presently final mixing works are progressing.’ Rukmini is playing another heroine. Tamil film Subrahmanyapuram in Telugu The hit Tamil film ‘Subrahmanyapuram is now being dubbed into Telugu and it has been titled as ‘Ananthapuram 1980’. The Telugu version is being produced by M Ranganath on the Simhapuri Talkies banner. Colours Swathi is the heroine in the revenge drama. Sasi Kumar is the director. Ananthapurm 1980 is expected to hit the screens in April.Trisha to pair up with Venkatesh It is reliably learnt that Venkatesh would involve in the shooting of ‘Eenadu’ with Kamal Hassan in the lead role. It is worth mentioning here that Kamal Hassan himself is producing the film, which is the remake of a successful Bollywood movie ‘A Wednesday’. After ‘Eenadu’, another film is in the offing for Venkatesh under the direction of Sreenu Vaitla.
