Elton John ‘not expecting to be invited to Royal Wedding’

NEW YORK - Elton John has said that he is not expecting to get an invite to Prince William’s wedding, despite being very close to the late Princess Diana.

“I think because of my relationship with Princess Diana, people automatically think I’m going to be invited,” the New York Daily News quoted John as telling a foreign agency.

Insisting that he did not know her sons William and Harry well, John said, “I’m not invited to the wedding, I would not expect to be invited to the wedding.”

Still, he’s happy to join the throngs of well-wishers.

“I just wish them the happiest of lives together,” said the singer. “They seem very happy. He’s a really terrific man, William, and he’s going to be a great king.” (ANI)
