LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- If you love to get a critical appreciation of the movies you watch, then the first and foremost name that strikes you would be that of Roger Ebert. The man had remained one of the best ever film critics, both in the newspaper as well as on the television. He is all set to launch a new movie review show this weekend — is also giving his fans a sneak peek at his brand-new facial prosthesis. The critic had to get a portion of his jaw removed due to thyroid cancer and now after two years of toil, this man has got a new look which he would show off this weekend. All his fans can gear up to see him in an all new avatar.

Roger Ebert has been fighting cancer for several years. The cancer had originally affected his thyroid gland, but as it started spreading, a portion of his jaw had to be removed so as to prevent the disease from spreading. He wrote in his personal blog on Thursday, praising the doctors who did that wonderful job to get him a new look. He said that he liked his new prosthesis and know from his own observation that the work which the doctors undertook was painstaking, but it was done with love and care. The critic went on to say that the process of crafting the silicone prosthesis and matching it to his face and features took almost two years and the effort was led by Dr. David J. Reisberg.

Since the cancer, Chicago-based Roger Ebert, 68, has not been able to eat or speak normally. He has made use of various text-to-speech technologies to communicate with people. He initially wrote that he would wear the prosthesis all the time when he is out of his house. However, he has changed his decision, since people know how he looks without wearing it.
