LONDON - Charlotte Church has apologized for making shallow comments about the Queen, saying that she had been ‘foolish’.

She said that the Queen was an old lady who had no idea about her surroundings and she had never recognised her instead of meeting her over and over again.

Church, 24 was immediately criticized (avoid passive) for making such impertinent statements about the 84-year-old monarch in her interview with Esquire magazine.

It was allegedly said that the Welsh singer made these remarks to sell her first album in five years.

In a statement made by the singer yesterday she said, “I am deeply sorry if my comments about the Queen caused offence,” reports the Daily Express.

“I am honoured to have met her and have an enormous amount of respect for her and what she does.”

She added, “My only defence is that I never expected a respected publication to sensationalize my words out of context like this.”(ANI)
