SYDNEY - January Jones has revealed that she almost turned down the role of a sexy mutant in upcoming ‘X-Men: First Class’, because the film is set in the same period as her TV show ‘Mad Men’.

Jones is due to play the character Emma Frost in the comic book prequel, which, like ‘Mad Men’, is also set in the ’60s.

The actress has admitted that she was fearful about heading back to the past because the ‘X-Men’ role is set in the same decade as Mad Men, in which she plays Betty Draper.

“When I heard that this installment of X-Men was going to take place in the ’60s I was like, ‘Oh my God, you must be kidding me,’” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted her as telling the Los Angeles Times.

“But I read the script and familiarized myself with the character of Emma Frost.

She added: “She’s so, so far from Betty and from Mad Men, and it takes place in that time but it doesn’t feel like a period movie.” (ANI)
