LOS ANGELES - Scottish actor Billy Connolly has revealed he based his character in the Christmas outing “Gulliver’s Travels” on Britain’s Prince Charles.

The comedian stars alongside funnyman Jack Black in the new film adaptation of Jonathan Swift’s satirical novel and plays King Theodore of the tiny land of Lilliput.

“I tried to be a kind of Prince Charlesy king. I think if he was the king, he’d be a kind of jolly, casual sort of king. I rather like him,” Connolly said in a statement.

A live-action family-comedy adventure, it has been directed by Rob Letterman.
