LONDON - Queen of pop Madonna has been named UK’s most written-about celebrity of the entire decade.

According to a research by Kantar Media, the 52-year-old singer’s name has been mentioned in the British print media 46,000 times since 2000.

This was at least 15,000 more than second-placed Simon Cowell, reports the Daily Star.

“These figures show why Madonna is hailed as a legend,” said Kantar Media researcher Brian Merron.

Robbie Williams came third, while Kate Moss and Britney Spears followed in fourth and fifth positions respectively.

Other celebrities to achieve a mention in the top 10 included Victoria Beckham, who pipped her husband David into seventh place by just 880 names, although ‘Brand Beckham’ obtained 50,000 mentions.

While Michael Jackson was placed eight, Sir Paul McCartney came ninth and Kylie Minogue 10th in the list, compiled for the website clickliverpool.com. (ANI)
