NEW DELHI - Bollywood actor Bobby Deol has said that neither there is anyone as great as his father Dharamendra nor will there ever be in the future.

Interacting with mediapersons about their film ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’ here, Bobby Deol said: “There has never been anyone like him (Dharamendra) nor will there ever be. We recently celebrated his 75th birthday, and also he has completed 50 years in the industry, and we are coming out with this film which has been made well, as a tribute to him.”

Produced by Nitin Manmohan and directed by Samir Karnik, the film is slated for release on January 14.

Bobby further said the film has been inspired from movies of yesteryears in which siblings get lost, usually at a ‘mela’ and finally reunite after ample dose of romance, songs and suspense.

“The film begins from Vancouver and ends in Punjab and in the middle goes through Benaras where Sunny Deol’s character reaches, because he gets to know from someone that his father and brother are there in Benaras,” said Bobby Deol.

“That happens after someone looks at his father’s photograph on the wall and says this man had robbed him. And he is told this man is living somewhere is Benaras, and that is where brother’s character goes to search him there. My character’s name is Gajodhar while my father’s is Dharma Singh,” he added.

He said the Deol trio would portray action in a comedy, which they are famous for.

“Action films are associated with the Deol name but this time the audience will see what great amount of action has been done in a comedy film. We have made this film after three years. Earlier, we appeared in Apne, to which many people told my father that they got very emotional watching his film,” said Bobby Deol.

“So, my father told them, the next time ‘I will come onscreen with my children, I will make a comedy’, and therefore we have now got for you ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’. The reactions are so positive, and everyone who has seen the trailers have come and said that they are eagerly awaiting the film,” he added. (ANI)
