Dame Elizabeth Taylor to be honoured with special prize for charity work

LONDON - Veteran actress Dame Elizabeth Taylor will be honoured with a special prize for her charity work.

The 78-year-old is set to receive the prize at Women’s Image Network (WIN) Awards in January 2011.

As per the WIN founder Phyllis Stuart, the Hollywood star will be honoured with the Living Legend title for her ‘artistic genius and her HIV/AIDS activism’, reports the Daily Star.

Taylor is said to have tentatively agreed to attend the ceremony in Santa Monica, California on 18 January, but her appearance will depend on her health, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Nominees at the event, which lauds stars who have helped promote a positive perception of women, include Jennifer Aniston, Dame Maggie Smith, Jane Lynch, Susan Sarandon and Selena Gomez. (ANI)
