SAN FRANCISCO (GaeaTimes.com)- The cause started on Facebook to combat child abuse is drawing in a good number of supporters. Yes, this is what the updates on the various websites are showing. According to sources, many people are searching for cartoon character images in various websites, so that they can replace their profile picture with that of the popular characters on the animation world. A particular link on a popular website showcased how much importance the movement was gaining since almost all the searches were shown to be related to that of cartoons and this has continued for a stretch of over two days.

A source close to this issue divulged that almost all the searches had the word “old cartoons” in them. The world has been looking in desperately for their favorite cartoon characters who were so close to all of us in our childhood days. So, if you ever thought that cartoons could function in no other way except for making you laugh, then its high time that you come out from the shackles of these old ideas. All the power now seems to lie in the hands of the cartoon characters. The mission on Facebook has assumed the shape of a world wide phenomena. More supporters are expected to join in till the last day.

However, the origin of this campaign is still unclear. The hunt for the best cartoon profile pictures is still on with people showing a lot of interest in the Worldwide Violence Against Children and Child Abuse campaign. Foghorn Leghorn, Bugs Bunny, Captain Caveman, Hong Kong Phooey, Simpsons, Tweety Bird, Flintstones, Thundercats and many more are ruling the Facebook domain.
