London, Dec 1 (ANI): Musician Eric Clapton’s former partner Lory Del Santo has dedicated a poem to Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.

Del Santo, a former model, is now a television presenter who has appeared on Berlusconi’s Mediaset TV channels.

She parted ways with Clapton after their four-year-old son, Conor, fell to his death from the window of a 53rd floor apartment in New York in a freak accident in 1991.

She debuted her poem, titled “Tu” (”You”) on Italian radio station, Radio 2.

“You who think, who imagine, you, who can transform dreams into reality, expressing the wish to be, to resist,” the Telegraph quoted the poem as saying.

“You who have the desire to give, see progress in a world of confines. You, who love, you, who simply exist,” the poem said.

Berlusconi has been dealing with violent student protests against university reforms, a crisis over uncollected rubbish in Naples, infighting within his party, anger over the state of Pompeii and a crucial parliamentary confidence vote on Dec 14, as well as allegations about his private life.

He no longer has a guaranteed majority in parliament, after the defection from his coalition of former ally Gianfranco Fini.

Berlusconi was also forced to laugh off leaked US State Department cables, which described him as “feckless, vain and ineffective as a modern European leader”. (ANI)
