LONDON - Britain’s Prince William, the second-in-line to the throne, has plans to take his girlfriend Kate Middleton for a long drive — not in a luxury limousine but on a superbike with a speed up to 305 kmph.

The adrenaline junkie has revealed he is not prepared to settle down and give up all his bachelor hobbies just yet by planning to buy an Italian-made Ducati 1198SP, nicknamed Duke, worth 17,500 pounds, Daily Express reported.

The Prince, 28, who shares a passion for motorcycles with his brother Harry, is in discussions about ordering the bike, in black with a silver stripe running down the centre, according to sources.

It would be a purchase to send shudders down the spines of his police bodyguards who would be hard-pressed to keep up with him. The motorcycle is capable of reaching 0-96 kmph in three seconds.

Earlier this year brother Harry, 26, got in on the act by buying an 11,000 pounds Ducati 848 with a top speed of 267 kmph.

But William has always claimed he is the more accomplished rider. Two years ago he teased Harry, telling friends: “He can’t play with the big boys yet.”
