LONDON - Florida Governor Charlie Crist has hinted that he is considering posthumously pardoning legendary singer Jim Morrison for a 40-year-old charge of public indecency.

Crist, who steps down from his post in January, has promised to revisit the case, reports the Telegraph.

“Candidly, it’s something that I haven’t given a lot of thought to, but it’s something I’m willing to look into in the time that I have left. Anything is possible,” said Crist, adding that fans should ’stay tuned’.

Crist must submit a request for clemency by December 9 to clear the American rock legend of the charges.

Pardons in Florida must go through the Board of Executive Clemency, which meets on December 9.

Fans of ‘The Doors’ singer hope the Governor would make good on a promise to review the Morrison case before he stands down.

Morrison was convicted of indecent exposure and profanity after a 1969 concert in Miami during which he allegedly exposed himself while drunk.

He had denied the offence and was appealing his sentence when he died in 1971. (ANI)
