MUMBAI - Bollywood actress Dia Mirza walked the ramp for designer Rocky S during the ongoing India Bridal Week collection in Mumbai.

The event not only showcased traditional dresses such as lehengas and saris but it also displayed modern dresses for women.

Male models also walked the ramp showing tailored suits for the formal evening.

“I feel today we are out of the typical Indian colours. We are now a new generation. If you will see the collection, we have styled very modern. It does not have to be completely Indian. We are today’s people and I feel today we can dress up in a much different manner than just wearing a typical lehenga or a salwar-kameez,” said Rocky S.

Mirza walked the ramp in a beautiful white bridal lehenga.

“To see an Indian girl in a white outfit or white lehenga is so ethereal and beautiful. The garment is so stunning. I think that in itself is a reflection of the line. I think what Rocky is trying to do with this collection is to say that why stick with the mould, brocade? Try something new, and I think it works really well because I felt beautiful. The garment is stunning,” said Mirza.

The India Bridal Week that kicked off on Friday will focus on wedding clothes, jewellery and accessories.

The ongoing five-day event is held under the aegis of the Fashion and Design Promotion Council (FDPC). By Shaikh Sharik (ANI)
