CALIFORNIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Eddie Fisher, who was a rising star in the US music circle in the early 1950s, died a few days back at his home and the news has cast a spell of grief on his fans and friends alike. The yesteryears’ singer was 82 and he passed away after suffering from some complications arising out of his hip surgery. He was 82. The daughters and family of the late singer are aggrieved by the sudden death. The family of the late singer issued a statement saying that his demise is not only a personal loss of the family, but also a loss of hugely talented singer on the part of USA. The singer was known for his unique dramatic voice, but his fame as a singer was mostly overshadowed by his later playboy image. He married five times and three of his wives were Hollywood starlets. The marriages ended in divorces and provided the media with ample scope to spread juicy stories even in those days. He admitted jocularly once in his autobiography that his affairs became more important than his career.

Eddie Fisher made headlines when he married divas like Elizabeth Taylor and Connie Stevens. His third wife Connie Stevens was also a noted TV actress, with whom his marriage lasted barely for two years. The couple had two children named Tricia Leigh Fisher and Joely Fisher. Both the daughters were fond of their father very much. It has been reported that the death of Eddie Fisher has shocked Connie Stevens.

Eddie Fisher’s meteoric rise to stardom has very few parallels in showbiz but he did injustice to his career after getting addicted to drugs. His numerous affairs also tarnished his image to a great extent.
