LOS ANGELES, (GaeaTimes.com)- Some people give up easily, while some struggle and emerge as a winner in the end. The featuring of Angela Winbush in “Unsung” proved her one, who belongs to the second category of people. “Unsung” is a television documentary series, aired on Cable one, that features the life and career of certain singers, who despite having a good start in their music career, could not make it get their dues in the end.

Angela Winbush may be considered as one of those singers, who had an amazing beginning, in 1980s, when she was part of the RnB band, Rene and Angela. Rene Moore, her music partner and Angela Winbush started with their debut album “Ren & Angela”, followed by “Wall to Wall”, “Rise” and “Street Called Desire”. With four albums, they decided to split in the mid 80s, for some personal issues between the two, and opted for a solo career in RnB genre. That was probably the worst career decision taken by the duo as that ruined their career. In “Unsung” the singer talked about her split with Rene Moore, followed by her struggle with stage 3 ovarian cancer, for which she had to undergo a six months chemotherapy in 2003. That was not the end, as she was again diagnosed with a cyst in her breast. All that were followed by her divorce with her husband Ron Isley, who was a singer in the band “Isley Brothers”.

Angela Winbush never wanted to share her personal life and her solitary struggle to cope with depression, with the public, and was initially hesitant about being a part of “Unsung”. The other reason for her hesitation was she felt that she was not an “Unsung” and has done many worthwhile things in her life. But later she decided to do it, as she wanted to share a few things, and clarify a few more. Her partner Rene Moore and Ex-husband Ron Isley, were also invited in the show. But both refused to come.
