THIRUVANANTHAPURAM - Defence Minister A.K. Antony’s younger son Ajith Paul Antony is all set to make his debut as a hero in a Rs.15 crore multi-lingual film “Oberoi”.

Speaking to IANS Aji John, the director of the film, said: “The story of the film is also by Ajith and the film would be first made in Malayalam and then in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.”

“A Delhi-based company is producing the film,” said John, whose first Malayalam film “Nallavan” was released early this year.

Antony junior completed his bachelor of arts from the St. Stephen’s College in Delhi early this year and since then has been busy with the film.

“The film tells the tale of high flying business families and Ajith plays the son of a rich tycoon. The shooting will commence early next year and would be shot mostly in Singapore, besides a metro in India,” said John.

Ajith would play the lead role in all the four languages and so would two or three other actors who would play major roles, said John.

“The rest of the cast would vary in other languages and hence only those scenes which need to be re-shot would be filmed and that’s how we would be able to keep the cost of the film low,” added John.

Asked if Antony senior has given the nod to his son to enter the tinsel world, John said: “The son has all the blessings of his parents.”

“I was so impressed by his passion for films and in the interest he has in film making and we really gel well. Every day we discuss our project. He is a talented person,” added John.
