Classical dance festival in Delhi from Monday

NEW DELHI - A Delhi-based cultural organisation will host a five-day classical dance festival here from Oct 19, an official said Friday.

The SEHER will organise the ninth annual dance festival Ananya at Purana Quila in association with the Delhi government and the Sahitya Kala Parishad, the cultural wing of the state government.

The show will run from 7 p.m. to 8.15 p.m. every day. Odissi dancer Sharmila Biswas, Bharatanatyam performer Geeta Chandran, national award winner Kathakali performer Sadanam Balakrishnan will perform at the festival.

Ananya is an attempt to revive and popularise the intangible heritage of the country’s classical arts among the younger generation.
